Manikeshwara Temple

Manikeshwar is a 12th century temple located in Lakkundi village in Gadag district of Karnataka. This beautiful temple is historically and magnificently known with the regionally famous magnificent Musukina Bhavi (Pushkarni) or Maskin Bhavi in ​​front of it.

Manikeshwar Temple is 405 km from Bangalore, 70 km from Hubli city, just 11 km from Gadag city by road and just 10 km by railway.

In this temple there is Shivalinga of Saligram. The outer walls are mostly plain, but have interesting carvings, auspicious Hindu iconography, repetitive elements and miniature niches. A common mandapa has a porch on four front pillars. The inner walls are of simple decoration with niches, but there are no sculptures in the niches. An inscription on a pillar mentions Gurukula, Guru and Bhoga Mantapa. Locally known as Maskin Bhavi (Pushkarni) is the biggest attraction.
