Shivanasamudra Gaganachukki Waterfalls

Gaganachukki is a stunning waterfall that cascades around Shivanasamudra Island on the banks of Kaveri River. Gaganachukki falls is a waterfall of Kaveri river, which flows around Shivanasamudra island and splits into two branches and flows to the left side and flows down from a height of 90 meters. The twin waterfalls Bharachukki and Gaganachukki attract attention here.

138 km from Bangalore and 75 km from Mysore, and 21 km from Kollegala city and Malavalli is 28 kilometers away from the city.

A common idea about these falls is that the right side is called Gaganachukki and the left side is called Bharachukki. In reality, Gaganachukki Falls is just a few kilometers away. The sight of the gushing and flowing waterfall will mesmerize you.

Established in 1902, Asia’s first hydroelectric generating station was started at Shivanasamudra. This project was founded by Diwan Seshadri Iyer of Mysore kingdom. Surrounded by the dense forests of the Kaveri Wildlife Sanctuary, the magnificent waterfalls with unmatched beauty make it a perfect place to spend time in serenity and a perfect picnic spot.
