Hasanamba Temple is located on Hoslain Road in Hassan district of Karnataka state. This temple opens once a year. The temple has Hoysala architecture and Hindu temple architecture. Hasanamba Temple is one of the important temples of Karnataka, known for its rich history and unique tradition of opening only once a year during Diwali. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Hasanamba, named Hassan because Hasanamba is the city deity.

History
According to the 114 AD Veeragalli inscription at Kuduru Gandhi, it is the 12th century the time of Paleyagara Krishnappanayaka. When Krishnappanayaka went on a business trip, he came across a rabbit. This is considered inauspicious. It is as if the manifested Adishakti Swarupini built a temple at this place, I will settle here as Hasanambe.
According to another myth, the seven Matrikyas, namely Brahmidevi, Maheshwari, Kaumari, Vaishnavi, Varahi, Indrani and Durga, Chamundi, came here from Kashi for a promenade towards the south. Among them, Vaishnavi, Varahi and Indrani, the place where these three settled in Hutta (Snake bite) is the temple of Hassanambe. At Devikere in the heart of Hassan Nagar, Brahmidevi, Kenchamma Devi resides in Hoskote.
