Shri Gayatri Tapobhoomi is located in Muttalli, a village in Shiggavi Taluk Tadas, Haveri District, Karnataka State. It is also a grand temple built for Goddess Gayatri. It has the distinction of being the only temple built in South India.

A black colored idol of Mother Gayatri Devi is enshrined in the beautiful sanctum sanctorum. Here God is giving darshan to the devotees who are carrying 5 faces of Sukomala and Mandasmitha, holding Abhaya’s hand. Along with Goddess Gayatri, idols of Ganesha, Skanda and Annapurneswari are enshrined here.
