Haranahalli Lakshminarasimha Temple is located in Haranahalli village of Arsikere taluk in Hassan district of Karnataka state. Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple is one of the two major surviving historical Hindu temples in Haranahalli, Karnataka state.
This temple is about 182.5 km from Bangalore and 33.4 km from Hassan railway station. It is about 35 km from the famous Halebidu temple and 35.2 km from Hassan town.
The architecture of the temple reflects the Vesara style of Hoysala architecture and was completed in 1230 by three wealthy brothers Peddanna Heggade, Sovanna and Kesanna.
It is a Trikuta (trikoota) temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu. It has a single plane with a superstructure, which from a distance looks like it has only one sanctum sanctorum.
According to inscriptions found near the temple and in the village, the temple was originally dedicated and named after Kesava – Vishnu, but later on its history was renamed as Lakshminarasimha Temple.
