Kailasagiri Hill / Kailasagiri Cave Temple Chintamani

Kailasagiri hill is located in Kavalganahalli village of Chintamani taluk of Chikkaballapur district of Karnataka state. Kailasagiri is an awe-inspiring cave temple complex hand-carved into the rocky hills.

Kailasagiri Hill is about 89 km from Bangalore. It is about 41 km from Chikkaballapur city and 42 km from Chikkaballapur railway station.

This cave complex has temples dedicated to Ganesha, Goddess Parvati and Lord Shiva in the form of a linga with traveling faces Chaturmukeshwar. Two caves are work in progress. One is a Shiva temple with a huge monolithic lingam and the other is a large cave as a hall for discourses and satsangs. The view of the surrounding countryside from Kaisagiri Hill is spectacular. It is held to introduce them, to “introduce a sense of empathy and inclusion in today’s economic climate”.
