Brindavan Gardens

Brindavan Gardens is a park in Mandya district of Karnataka state. It is located next to the Krishnarajasagar Dam built across the Kaveri River. Brindavan is also situated in an area of ​​sixty acres. This park was built during 1927-1932 as planned by Sir M Visvesvaraya. This garden is one of the main attractions of Srirangapatna and Mysore visitors.

It is about 148 km from Bangalore. It is about 44 km from Mandya and just 20 km from Mysore. It is 19 km from Mysore city railway station.

Brindavan Gardens is open from 07:00 AM to 08:00 PM.

The garden is open to the public and an entrance fee is charged. The park is managed by Cauvery Irrigation Corporation, a Karnataka government enterprise. The garden has topiary works (sculptures of animals created by cutting bushes), pergolas (shaded walkways covered with vines). Brindavan Park entry fee is RS.15/- per person for adults and Rs.05/- per person for children (Age: 5-10 years).

Musical fountain show time in Brindavan Gardens

The musical fountain at Brindavan Gardens is open every Monday to Friday from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm and on Saturday and Sunday from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm.

Brindavan is also downstream of Krishnarajasagar Dam and it got the name KRS or Krishnarajasagar Dam because it was built during the reign of Nalvadi Krishnaraja Wodeyar. Visited by around 2 million tourists a year, the Brindavan Flower Garden is a must-see for tourists visiting Mysore. Formerly known as Krishnarajendra Terrace Garden, Brindavan is also spread over sixty acres of land. Adjacent to this is an orchard spread over 75 acres and 2 horticultural farms, Nagavan (30 acres) and Chandravan (05 acres).

There are beautiful flower beds, grass beds, trees, ficus trees, foliage plants like Duranta plumaria and euphorbia and flowering plants like celosia, marigold and bougainvillea, small ponds and springs. Tourists can take a boat ride around the statue of Kaveri in the lake at the center of the park. Visitors must see the colored water fountain (Sangeetha Kanji) that dances to the beat of music near the exhibition center at the northern end of the Hoodota. A mesmerizing light and music show at Hoodota can be seen from Monday to Friday from around 7-8 PM and on Saturday and Sunday from 7-9 PM.
