Siddara Betta

Siddara Betta is a hill in Koratagere taluk of Tumkur district in the state of Karnataka. The mountain is very interesting for trekkers, adventurers and cave explorers and Siddara Hill is famous for the temple of Lord Sri Siddalingeshwar.

Siddara Betta is about 103 km from Bangalore. It is 31 km away from Tumkur city. It is 18 km from Koratagere. Tumkur is the nearest railway station which is just 32 km away.

The temple at Siddhar Betta is open from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM.

In Kannada, Siddara Betta means “Hill of Saints”. Because Siddara Hill has a rich saintly history since ancient times. This hill is home to several caves. Many Hindu saints used to do penance and meditation here. There is evidence that this hill was inhabited in the 19th century by the legendary saint Sri Siddhar Swamy inside the cave of the hill.

The hills are very famous for medicinal plants and hence it is known as the center of medicinal plants used in traditional medicine.

Siddara Swamy, a famous spiritual and mythological saint, is said to have miraculous powers and performed many miracles of curing diseases. There is evidence of the dead being brought back to life.

At an altitude of 1,700 feet above sea level, Siddhar Hill (Siddara Betta) is ideal for trekking adventures. Trekking route is 3-4 km. It takes a maximum of 2 hours to climb the trek.
