Bidar Fort 

Bidar Fort is located in the old city area of ​​Bidar district in the state of Karnataka, Sultan Ahmad Shah I of the Bahmani dynasty shifted his capital from Gulbarga to Bidar in 1427 and built his fort along with several Islamic monuments. Bidar was the capital of the Bahmani Empire in the 14th century. This fort was built by Ahmad Shah Wali Bahmani. The fort was renovated in the 15th century.

Bidar Fort, one of the most extraordinary forts in the country, is situated in the eastern part of Bidar town and contains the remains of palaces, mosques and other buildings built of trap rock. Stone and mortar were used to build fort-walls. The fort is entered from the south-east by a winding passage guarded by three gateways. The entrance has a tall dome, the interior of which is painted in bright colors.

The fort has more than thirty Islamic monuments of Islamic and Persian architecture, 37 octagonal fort-like structures extending from seven main gates with metal-armoured cannons, balconies, mosques and mahals.
