Barid Shahi Park

Barid Shahi Park Deccan Park and Barid Shahi Tombs are historical monuments in Bidar, Karnataka state. The Barid Shahi Tombs are the tombs of the Barid Shahi dynasty. They are spread over 55 acres of gardens with hundreds of plants. The Archaeological Survey of India has declared the group of tombs as National Monuments.

Barid Shahi Park 03 km from Bidar Railway Station, walking distance near Bidar Main Bus Stand, park accessible from south entrance.

The Barid Shahi dynasty ruled between 1492 and 1695. The Barid Shahis gained control over the region around Bidar in the early 15th century. The tombs of Ali Barid and his son Qasim Barid are located in the sprawling gardens of the Deccan Park.

Timings: Open Tuesday-Saturday 4 PM to 8 PM, Sundays and Holidays Friday 10 AM to 8 PM. And will be closed every Monday.

Decorated with architectural motifs with star-shaped panels and beautiful patterns. Ali Barid Shah was prominent among the Baridshahi rulers. He was interested in architecture and built his own tomb in 1577, three years before his death. There are 67 tombs belonging to Ali Barid’s concubines. Ibrahim Barid Shah’s mausoleum is located in front of Ali Barid’s mausoleum. Ali Barid Shah Mausoleum has the finest Islamic architecture and beauty.

There is a two storied gate leading to this tomb. The 70 feet high tomb has a large dome supported by four pillars. It has a grand pavilion based on a raised platform built of green granite and laterite rock. It has rich floral designs carved on the stone. The interior of the dome also has painted edges.
